The Los Angeles Kings signed defenceman Paul LaDue to a one-year, two-way deal, the team announced on Friday.

LaDue’s new contract will pay him $874,125 at the NHL level.

The 24-year-old suited up for 22 games for the Kings in 2016-17, recording eight assists for the big-league club. He also appeared in 38 games for Los Angeles’ AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign, posting 18 points in that span.

LaDue was drafted in the sixth round (181st-overall) by the Kings in 2012, after which he spent three years plying his trade for the University of North Dakota.
