Ottawa Senators forward Alexei Kovalev will undergo an MRI on his injured left leg on Friday.

Kovalev appeared to have hurt his left knee when he fell awkwardly after being hit by Lightning forward Todd Fedoruk in the second period of Thursday’s 4-3 shootout loss.

He left the ice unable to put any weight on his left leg, as he was helped down the hallway by the training staff.

The club expects to have an update on his condition on Saturday morning.
