Lack signs 2-year extension with Hurricanes

Eddie Lack said after his trade to the Hurricanes that he's thankful for his time in Vancouver, but is looking forward to the transition he'll make to Carolina.

Eddie Lack has signed a two-year $5.5M extension with the Carolina Hurricanes, the team announced Saturday.

Lack was dealt from the Vancouver Canucks to the Hurricanes on the second day of the 2015 NHL draft for a 2015 third-round pick and a 2016 seventh-round pick. He will split time in the crease with Cam Ward this season.

The 27-year-old goaltender played in 82 games for the Canucks over the past two seasons, collecting 34 wins while boasting a .917 save percentage.
