Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford is not being investigated by police for an altercation with a Los Angeles Kings fan, despite a recent report suggesting otherwise.
According to TMZ, 27-year-old Clark Wong filed a battery report against Crawford after the netminder allegedly sprayed water on him late in Game 5 at the Staples Center Monday.
However, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman told CBS Chicago Wednesday that Crawford is not involved in any police investigation.
“I just heard about it [Wednesday],” Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville told reporters in Chicago. “First I heard of it… I’m not worried about it right now. I’m worrying about the game.”
The Blackhawks are down 3-1 in the Western Conference final and face elimination at the United Center.
