Ilya Bryzgalov and Las Vegas might not be done with each other yet.

Although the longtime NHL goaltender was released from his tryout with the Las Vegas Wranglers on Wednesday, Bryzgalov was added as the ECHL club’s emergency backup on Friday.

Bryzgalov, a 33-year-old unrestricted free agent, attended Wranglers’ training camp after he failed to secure a contract with an NHL club.

“He looks great,” Wranglers head coach Mike Madill told HC @ Noon on Wednesday. “He’s been awesome. He gets along great with the guys.

“We’re unaffiliated, so it’s a good chance for him to come somewhere not connected to an NHL team directly.”

The Philadelphia Flyers bought out the final seven years of his nine-year, $51-million contract in the off-season.

Bryzgalov posted a 19-17-3 record with a 2.79 goals-against average and .900 save percentage last season in 40 games with the Flyers.
