Las Vegas NHL team to announce name on Nov. 22

Kelly McCrimmon was just named Assistant GM for the Las Vegas NHL franchise and joined Prime Time Sports to talk about the construction of the team and how it will work.

The Las Vegas (blank) Knights NHL expansion team, set to take to the ice next season, will unveil the team’s name and logo on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Owner Bill Foley, general manager George McPhee and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman will make the announcement at Toshiba Plaza, outside the T-Mobile arena.

“The Las Vegas community has been with us throughout this incredible process–from the ticket drive to the awarding of a team–and I hope everyone will join us once more as we announce the name and unveil the logo for Las Vegas’s first major professional sports team,” said Foley. “We have a name and logo that not only reflects the city’s unique environment, but that signifies strength and a team culture that never accepts defeat.”

Previously, it’s been reported that the team will decided between Silver Knights, Desert Knights or Golden Knights for its name. Team majority owner Bill Foley has confirmed that the team will have “Knights” in its name.
