New York Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski nominated Carlyle on August 10, when he completed the challenge with fellow Islanders teammate and former Maple Leaf Nikolai Kulemin.

Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri and defenceman Jake Gardiner assisted Carlyle with the challenge.

According to ALS Canada’s website, the organization has raised $6.2 million through the challenge.
