Toronto Maple Leafs GM Dave Nonis said the Toronto Maple Leafs are not closer to adding a veteran goaltender than they were Tuesday.
Nonis to Chris Simpson, on adding a goaltender: “At this point we’re not any closer to a trade in that area than we were a day ago.” #Leafs

The Leafs have expressed an interest to add a veteran goaltender to their roster and have been linked to Calgary’s Miikka Kiprusoff and Vancouver’s Roberto Luongo over the past week.
Mikka Kiprusoff will not waive his no trade clause, according to Sportsnet’s Roger Millions.

Nonis spoke to Sportsnet’s Christine Simpson Wednesday morning when he said the Leafs are looking to upgrade their roster – not only in net — but it has been a quiet day thus far.
Dave Nonis tells me it’s quiet out there so far but he thinks they’ll have something to consider before end of the day. #TradeTracker

With the Leafs currently in a playoff position, the team is looking to add players, rather than selling off assets like they have in the past.
Nonis: “It’s quiet out there… We’re not selling; we’re trying to add pieces if we can.”

One player that could be moved is forward Tim Connolly — who was made a healthy scratch by the Toronto Marlies Wednesday morning.
Connolly is in the final year of his contract and the Leafs are trying to find an opportunity to play in the NHL for the veteran centre.

Heading into Wednesday’s play, the Leafs have a 20-12-4 record and sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
