Report: Lightning’s Johnson out of All-Star Game

Get Ready for this weekends All-Star festivities by watching the best breakaway challenges, hardest shots, and obscure events from past NHL Skills competitions.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Tyler Johnson will miss the 2015 NHL All-Star Game Sunday due to a lower body injury, according to ESPN. Johnson will, however, be eligible to play in the Lightning’s first game back after the all-star break because he was present at the draft and skills competition.

Johnson was unable to compete in Saturday’s skills competition and the Lightning did not reveal the severity of the injury or how Johnson was hurt in the first place.

The 24-year-old is currently eighth in the NHL in scoring and leads Tampa Bay with 48 points (17 goals and 31 assists) in 46 games this season.

He was selected to be a member of Team Toews.
