Longtime Montreal Canadiens defenceman Francis Bouillon has signed with HC Ambri-Piotta of Switzerland's National League A.

Bouillon failed to make the Canadiens this season after attending training camp on a professional tryout offer. The 38-year-old registered six points, 34 penalty minutes and a minus-5 rating in 52 games with Montreal last season.

Bouilon, who had 32 goals and 111 assists in 776 career NHL regular season games, spent primarily with the Habs. He also spent three seasons with the Nashville Predators.
