Luongo pokes fun at himself after terrible goal

Tim Jackman likely wasn't thinking goal when he dumped the puck in from centre ice. And given how slow it was moving, you can't blame him. But it seems Roberto Luongo can't follow bouncing pucks.

Twitter enthusiast and all-around funny guy Roberto Luongo is known for his social media antics. On Tuesday, he gave us another taste of his humour.

The Florida Panthers beat the Anaheim Ducks 6-2, but Luongo allowed a goal from the other end of the ice after he couldn’t handle the bouncing puck. Perhaps it was the convincing victory that had him in a joking mood, but some goalies might let an awful goal like the one above bother them.

Not Luongo.

A few weeks ago, Toronto’s Jonathan Bernier allowed a goal from the other end of the ice. Phoenix goalie Mike Smith, who was Bernier’s opposite, said he felt more sorry for Bernier than happy about the goal.

“Every goalie has been there at some point in their lives,” Smith said. “It’s not the best feeling in the world. I feel bad for him.”

It didn’t seem to bother Luongo all that much. Of course, if the Panthers had lost, it’d be a different story.
