Maple Leafs acquire Zach Hyman from Panthers

The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded Greg McKegg to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Zach Hyman and a conditional 2017 seventh round pick.

Hyman, a 22-year-old University of Michigan forward, was a Hobey Baker Award finalist and is set to become a UFA this year.

The Toronto native was a 2010 fifth round pick by the Florida Panthers, and had 22 goals and 54 points in 37 games in this year with the Wolverines.

McKegg, a third round pick in 2010, tallied 22 goals and 37 points in 62 games with the Marlies this season, and made three appearances with the Leafs.
