Maple Leafs’ Clarkson suspended two games

David Clarkson was suspended two games by the NHL for his illegal hit to the head on Vladamir Sobotka on Thursday.

Toronto Maple Leafs winger David Clarkson has been suspended two games for his hit to the head of Vladimir Sobotka of the St. Louis Blues.

The original incident occurred during second period of the Leafs’ 6-3 loss to the Blues on Thursday.

In 23 games, Clarkson has two goals and four assists to go along with 43 penalty minutes. He was suspended 10 games to start the season for coming off the bench to join a brawl in a pre-season game against the Buffalo Sabres.
