The Toronto Maple Leafs added some depth to their blue line, acquiring defenceman Martin Marincin from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Brad Ross and a fourth-round draft pick.
Marincin, 23, split the 2014-15 season between the Oilers and the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League, registering one goal and four assists in 41 games with Edmonton while adding seven assists in 28 AHL games.
The 6-foot-4 Slovakian defenceman, originally a second-round pick by the Oilers in 2010, is set to become a restricted free agent on July 1.
Ross, 23, spent the majority of 2014-15 with the Toronto Marlies (AHL), posting four goals, four assists with 62 penalty minutes in 32 games. He also appeared in 10 games with the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL), potting five goals with six assists.
The Maple Leafs originally selected the 6-foot-1 Alberta native in the second round of the 2010 NHL Draft.
Ross is the latest player to be acquired on Saturday by the Oilers, who traded for goaltender Cam Talbot and defenceman Eric Gryba earlier in the day.
