Maple Leafs recall forward Nikita Soshnikov from AHL

The Toronto Maple Leafs could be adding another young player back into their lineup.

Ahead of Tuesday night’s game against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers, the Maple Leafs recalled 23-year-old Russian forward Nikita Soshnikov from the AHL Marlies.

Soshnikov played 11 games with the Leafs last season, scoring two goals and five assists. In six games with the Marlies this season, he notched a goal and two assists.

The feisty 5-foot-11, 185-pound native of Nizhny Tagil, Russia was an undrafted free agent signed by the Maple Leafs in 2015.
