Maple Leafs recall Rich Clune from Marlies

Toronto’s Richard Clune will not be an easy guy to push around on the ice because, as Scott Oake explains, the winger can clean and jerk 157kg.

TORONTO — The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled forward Rich Clune from the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies on Sunday.

The 28-year-old Clune has been held without a point in two games with the Maple Leafs this season.

He played in 22 games with the Marlies this season, collecting 12 points (five goals, seven assists) and 70 penalty minutes.

Clune, who signed an NHL contract with the Maple Leafs on Oct. 29, has appeared in 122 career regular season NHL games, collecting 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) and 310 penalty minutes.
