Defenceman T.J. Brennan will finally get another chance to play in the NHL after being recalled by the Toronto Maple Leafs Thursday.
Brennan has been one of the most prolific offensive blueliners in the American Hockey League for several seasons. He has been playing with the Toronto Marlies since being re-acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks last month.
Last year with the Marlies the 25-year-old registered 25 goals and 72 points in 76 regular season games. He also added 14 points in 14 post-season contests.
Despite his consistent success in the AHL, he has only suited up for 40 career NHL games with the most recent one taking place on April 27, 2013 when he was a member of the Florida Panthers.
It’s unclear how the Maple Leafs will use Brennan when the team travels to Calgary to play the Flames Friday.
