The Toronto Marlies signed Ryerson Rams goaltender Taylor Dupuis to an amateur tryout contact Saturday.

Dupuis, 22, is in his second year with the Toronto university team, boasting a record of 7-2 with a 2.84 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage. He previously played parts of three seasons in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves and Sarnia Sting.

Without an announcement from the Marlies, it is not immediately clear if Dupuis is filling in as a practice goalie or if he’ll get a long look with the club. In a separate move on Saturday, the Toronto Maple Leafs recalled goaltender Garret Sparks from the Marlies.

Dupuis was recently featured in an article for VICE Sports in which he describes his experiences playing against Connor McDavid when McDavid was a member of the Erie Otters of the OHL.

“I remember thinking, ‘F—, I just got scored on by a 15-year-old,'” Dupuis says in the interview.
