Stajan, Colborne injured in Flames shootout loss

Calgary's Matt Stajan and Montreal's Jarred Tinordi went chasing a puck and instead collided knee-on-knee with Stajan seeming to take the worst of the damage.

Calgary Flames centres Matt Stajan and Joe Colborne were forced to leave Tuesday’s 2-1 shootout loss against the Montreal Canadiens with lower- and upper-body injuries, respectively.

Colborne took a puck to the head in the first period, but left the game three shifts into the second period.

Meanwhile, Stajan left after a knee-on-knee collision with Jarred Tinordi in the third period. Tinordi was assessed a two-minute minor on the play.

The extent of the injuries was not immediately known.
