Should Matthew Tkachuk be suspended for hit on Doughty?

Matthew Tkachuk got away with something here after dropping Drew Doughty with an elbow directly to the face. No penalty on the play.

Matthew Tkachuk may have crossed the line here.

The Calgary Flames rookie sensed pressure from Los Angeles Kings defenceman Drew Doughty on Sunday, and stuck out his elbow in a dangerous manoeuvre.

No penalty was called on the play, though Tkachuk did take a roughing minor later in the shift, and Doughty was able to play after leaving the ice temporarily.

Tkachuk has flirted with the line of dangerous play before, but has thus far escaped supplemental discipline from the league.

We’ll see if he gets a call from the department of player safety for his latest incident.
