This just in: Connor McDavid still has the silkiest mitts in all the land.
The Edmonton Oilers captain – who will enter his third NHL campaign with the Art Ross and Hart trophies added to his resume – set Twitter ablaze on Friday with a brief peek into his off-season training.
McDavid has trained with the Power Edge Pro development system for the past decade, en route to becoming the most dominant offensive threat the game has seen since Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin joined the NHL ranks.
The skill on display in McDavid’s tweet won’t be news to Edmonton fans, as the Oilers faithful have been treated to plenty of instances of their young phenom stopping on a dime and leaving opposing defenders spinning.
At just 20 years old, McDavid is already in the conversation as one of history’s most dominant combinations of speed, stick-handling and elite vision.
And if his recent training clip is any indication, it seems that potent skill-set is only going to get more dangerous over time.
