Eddie Lack played hero for the Vancouver Canucks through the first two games of their best-of-seven series with the Calgary Flames, stopping 50 of 53 shots and earning a win in Game 2.
Lack was pulled from Game 4 in favour of Ryan Miller, and it’s the latter who will get the nod in Game 5 Thursday.
“He’s (Miller) been in big games before, but the biggest thing is how he played in Calgary,” Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins told reporters. “I thought he looked really sharp.”

The Canucks are facing elimination, and head coach Willie Desjardins will look to the veteran to help keep his club alive.
“Eddie’s played really great for us. He did a great job down the stretch,” said Desjardins. “Miller looked good in Calgary. He was really clean the last two periods. Out of that I think he deserves the chance.”
Miller has played in just two games, with one start, since suffering a knee injury in February. He appeared no worse for wear when he spelled Lack in the Canucks’ Game 4 loss.
Miller, 34, finished the 2014-15 season with a 29-15-1 record to go along with a 2.53 goals-against average and .911 save percentage in 49 games.
