The Montreal Canadiens and Jacob De La Rose have agreed to a one-year, one-way deal worth $750,000.
The 22-year-old left winger played in nine games for the Canadiens last season, but wasn’t able to record a point. At six-foot-three and 214 pounds, De La Rose spent the majority of his playing time with the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps, where he recorded 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) through 62 games.
De La Rose was originally the Canadiens’ second-round pick (34th overall) in 2013, and has played a total of 64 games for Montreal while recording seven points (4 goals, 3 assists) heading into the 2017-18 season.
