The Nashville Predators and forward Craig Smith agreed to a five-year contract worth $21.25 million.

The two sides had an arbitration meeting Monday and were able to come to terms on a new deal.

Smith is coming off back-to-back 20-goal campaigns, registering 96 points over the last two seasons.

“As evidenced by his back-to-back 20-goal seasons and performance in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Craig Smith is an integral part of our team’s young core and we are pleased to have agreed on a long-term contract that both parties are comfortable with,” Predators general manager David Poile said in a press release. “With Craig’s durability, work ethic and intensity, we see him continuing the build on his recent production and be a valuable contributor to our offensive attack for the next five seasons.”

The 25-year-old was drafted 98th overall by the Predators in 2009 and has spent his entire career with the franchise.
