Gotta See It: Nazem Kadri’s one-foot high jump

Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock has high expectations for Nazem Kadri, who has this next year to prove he’s an elite player before he gets paid like one.

As Toronto Maple Leafs centre Nazem Kadri prepares for his second straight contract year, new head coach Mike Babcock has thrown out a challenge.

“I expect him to be an elite player,” Babcock told reporters after Kadri signed a $4.1-million show-me deal this month. “His training has to match his skill set.

“You can’t take the summer off.”

Well, Kadri broadcasted his off-season training Tuesday on Instagram, posting a seven-second clip of him hopping on his left foot.

Perhaps inspired by the Pan Am Games rolling into town, the sequence ends with a rather impressive one-footed high jump.

The video depicts a training regimen that’s just a little more intense than Kadri’s pre-contract workout routine.
