Ottawa Senators forward Chris Neil will not face any discipline from the NHL for his hit on Brian Boyle of the New York Rangers on Saturday night.
According to Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos, Neil was not punished because the hit wasn’t late and he didn’t leave his feet.
The incident occurred just over five minutes into the third period of Game 5 and Neil was not penalized on the play. Ottawa defeated New York 2-0 to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarter-final series.
Game 6 is Monday at 7 p.m. ET in Ottawa.
