The panel debates whether the Columbus Blue Jackets won the trade for Seth Jones, or the Nashville Predators acquiring Ryan Johansen.

The New Jersey Devils have traded defenceman Eric Gelinas to the Colorado Avalanche for a third-round draft pick in 2017.

Gelinas, 24, carries a salary cap hit of $1.575 million through 2016-17. The Vanier, Ont., native has one goal, five assists and 16 penalty minutes through 34 games this season. The six-foot-four, 215-pound blueliner had been scratched the last nine games by New Jersey.

Selected by the Devils in the second round (54th overall) of the 2009 Entry Draft, Gelinas has totaled 54 points in 156 NHL games. He led all New Jersey D-men last season with six goals.

The Avalanche also acquired forward Mikkel Boedker from Arizona Monday.
