NHL player agents were told by NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr earlier this week that the salary cap may go to $68 million next year, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
However, Friedman said most agents and plenty of NHL executives are of the belief that the league and the players will get together and negotiate a number that will work for both sides.
Friedman speculated that number could end up around $70 million.
The NHL’s salary cap for the 2014-15 season is $69 million.
