The American Hockey League has called a press conference for Thursday afternoon, where it’s expected the league will make an official announcement that five NHL affiliates will be moved into California.

Members from the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks will all be in attendance, as will president of the AHL Dave Andrews and the NHL’s deputy commissioner Bill Daly.

According to Dave Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News, affiliates are expected to land in San Jose, Ontario (Calif.), San Diego, Stockton and Bakersfield.
