Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin and Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Zbynek Michalek are being sought out for incidents that occurred in Sunday’s game.

Just 4:05 into the second period, Ovechkin appeared to have left his feet and made contact with Michalek’s head.

Less than five minutes after Ovechkin’s hit, Michalek made contact with Capitals’ Matt Hendricks. The defenceman was given a minor elbowing penalty on the play.

Pittsburgh’s forward Evgeni Malkin pounded home a rebound 1:31 into overtime to lift the streaking Penguins to a 4-3 victory over the Capitals.

Michalek’s hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET while Ovechkin’s is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET.
