It looks like Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane has found a way to make a “little extra” cash during the NHL lockout.
Early Wednesday morning, Kane tweeted at Floyd Mayweather Jr. after winning big — we think — in Las Vegas.
Hey @floydmayweather pick up your phone cause I’m callin #imdifferent @jduppal twitter.com/EKane9JETS/sta… — Evander Kane (@EKane9JETS) December 19, 2012

Details are still unknown as to what the bet was and the official payout but judging by the photo it looks like enough to keep Kane afloat for a few months until he gets back to work (assuming that the NHL is coming back).
Like many tweets from professional athletes, this one surely had repercussions.
With the NHL negotiations in a rocky place, this probably isn’t a picture that the NHLPA want to see from a player. Also, fans are already fed up with the ongoing lockout so surely Kane got under the skin of some fans:
Evander Kane did a dumb thing in tweeting that pic but you really don’t have to try and think of a worse thing to say about him. — Will (@HeyMyNameIsWill) December 19, 2012
