Jaroslav Halak’s tenure with the Buffalo Sabres might be very short-lived.
Just days after the Slovakian netminder was acquired by the Sabres in the deal that sent Ryan Miller to the St. Louis Blues, he is close to being shipped to the Minnesota Wild.
According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post and the Star Tribune’s Michael Russo, the Wild are working on a deal to acquire Halak.
Halak went 24-9-4 with a 2.23 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in 40 appearances with the Blues this season.
The Wild are in search of a goalie prior to the 3 p.m. ET March 5 trade deadline. New Jersey Devils longtime starter Martin Brodeur is also believed to be on the Wild’s radar.
