No fine for Cameron after Subban slash comments

Dave Cameron addressed the media with some interesting comments regarding PK Subban's slash on Mark Stone.

Ottawa Senators head coach Dave Cameron will not be fined for his post-game comments about Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban’s slash on Mark Stone, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Following Wednesday’s Game 1 loss, Cameron did not hesitate to share his opinion about the slash.

“It’s a vicious slash on an unprotected part of the body,” said Cameron. “I think it’s an easy solution. You either suspend him or, when one of their best players gets slashed, just give us five [minutes in penalties]. Not that complicated.”

Subban was issued a major penalty and game misconduct for the violation. The league has not issued an official ruling on whether or not Subban will face additional repercussions.

Stone suffered a microfracture on the play, causing his playoff future to be in question.

The rookie forward made a few comments of his own following the Senators’ emotional loss, saying it “looked like he wanted to hurt me.”
