Well, this certainly won’t do anything to quell speculation that Mike Babcock could end up with the Toronto Maple Leafs next season.

Bodog released betting odds for who will be the next full-time head coach and general manager of the Maple Leafs and Babcock’s name was on top of both lists.

Joining Babcock on the coaching list is soon-to-be-former San Jose Sharks bench boss Todd McLellan, former Pittsburgh Penguins coach Dan Bylsma and recently fired New Jersey Devils coach Peter DeBoer.

Also, a pair of faces Maple Leafs fans will be familiar with – Doug Gilmour and Dallas Eakins – are options. Gilmour is the current GM of the OHL’s Kingston Frontenacs and one of the most popular players in Maple Leafs history, while Eakins was an assistant in Toronto for two seasons before becoming head coach of the Toronto Marlies in 2009 and spending four seasons in that role.

On the GM front, Babcock leads a pack that includes highly touted assistant GMs Mike Futa of the Los Angeles Kings and Paul Fenton of the Nashville Predators. Veteran GMs Ray Shero, Doug Wilson and Peter Chiarelli, plus former NHL goalie Sean Burke are there too.

Current Leafs assistant GM Kyle Dubas is listed, though he’s a longshot.
