It appears the Edmonton Oilers are nearing a return from starting goaltender Cam Talbot, as the netminder has been activated from injured reserve, the club announced on Friday.

Talbot was placed on injured reserve in late November while dealing with an upper-body injury. Edmonton went 3-3 in his absence, relying on 24-year-old Laurent Brossoit while Talbot was sidelined.

In 22 games this season, Talbot has managed a save percentage of .903 and a goals-against average of 3.00. The 30-year-old posted a .919 save percentage and a 2.39 goals-against average through 73 games in Oilers colours last season.
