Jail time might not be the only punishment Edmonton Oilers goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin receives, following his DUI conviction.
Sportsnet.ca has learned that the Oilers could possibly discipline Khabibulin, soon after his sentencing Tuesday.
It’s expected that Khabibulin will miss two to three regular season games, forfeit some of his salary and will be asked to do public service to support MADD.
Khabibulin was convicted Friday of three charges related to drunk driving and speeding in Arizona earlier this year.
He was also found guilty of excessive speeding.
