The look-ahead to the future continued for the Edmonton Oilers on Friday.

The club recalled 22-year-old defenceman Jordan Oesterle from the AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons and signed forwards Rob Klinkhammer and Ryan Hamilton to one-year contract extensions.

Oesterle, 22, has six goals and 15 assists in 49 games this season with the Barons and could be auditioning for a spot on the 2015-16 blue-line.

Klinkhammer, acquired in the trade that sent winger David Perron to the Pittsburgh Penguins, has two goals in 18 games since.

His extension is worth US$725,000.

The 29-year-old Hamilton has two points in five games with the Oilers this season.

The Oilers also placed forward Anton Lander on the injured reserve list.
