Oilers sign defenceman David Musil to one-year deal

Jordan Eberle downplayed the notion of him wearing the 'C' for the Edmonton Oilers next year, but feels that if not now, but in the future, that Connor McDavid will be the team's leader if not the NHL's.

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers signed defenceman David Musil to a one-year contract on Friday.

The 23-year old scored three goals and 11 assists in 67 games last season for the American Hockey League’s Bakersfield Condors. The six foot four, 203 pounder has seven goals and 30 assists in 193 career AHL games.

Musil has two assists in four career games with Edmonton.

The Delta, B.C., native was selected by the Oilers in the second round of the 2011 NHL draft.
