Oilers trade forward Teddy Purcell to Panthers for draft pick

Teddy Purcell scored the winning goal in the shootout as the Edmonton Oilers edged the Calgary Flames.

The Florida Panthers continued to add depth at forward, acquiring Teddy Purcell in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a third-round pick in 2016.

Purcell, 30, has 11 goals, 21 assists with a minus-9 rating in 61 games this season.

His contract carries a salary cap hit of $4.5 million and he is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent after the season.

The Panthers traded for veteran forward Jiri Hudler from the Calgary Flames earlier on Saturday.
