Senators give Hamburglar masks to 10,000 fans

The Ottawa Senators host the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday on Sportsnet, and one guy everyone can't get enough of is Andrew Hammond who's been piling up wins with some highlight reel saves.

As a way to honour Andrew Hammond — now known simply as “The Hamburglar” — and the incredible start to his NHL career, the Ottawa Senators gave away free Hamburglar masks to the first 10,000 fans in attendance at the Canadian Tire Centre prior to Thursday’s game against the Boston Bruins.

The Sens have taken full advantage of the momentum Hammond has generated for the team both on and off the ice.

The netminder was even given a special card that gives him free McDonald’s for the rest of his life because of his stellar performance/nickname combo.

Hammond allowed two or fewer goals in his first 12 NHL starts, which tied a record set back in 1938, and has helped bring the Sens to within four points of an Eastern Conference wild card spot heading into Thursday’s action.
