Panthers re-sign MacKenzie Weegar to one-year contract

The Florida Panthers have re-signed defenceman MacKenzie Weegar to a one-year, two-way contract.

Weegar played in three games with the Panthers this past season, the first of his NHL career.

He was selected in the seventh round (206th overall) of the 2013 NHL draft and has spent much of the past two seasons with Florida’s AHL affiliate.

The 23-year-old has 23 goals and 70 points in 153 career AHL games.
