Pastry chef makes Stanley Cup cake in honour of P.K. Subban

P.K. Subban joins Prime Time Sports to talk about last year’s trade from Montreal and the Predators’ astounding run in the playoffs.

Despite now playing for the Nashville Predators, P.K. Subban still has plenty of fans in Montreal. One of those fans has decided to honour the star defenceman with a special Stanley Cup cake.

Pastry chef Lawrence Vourtzoumis spent one week on the project and the final result stands close to two feet tall. The stats behind this cake are equally sweet. Vourtzoumis needed four kilograms of flour, three kilograms of sugar and 70 eggs to get the job done.

“Just because he was traded doesn’t mean I’m not going to like him anymore,” Vourtzoumis said of his favourite player. “So I’m going to support him all the way through.”

Subban’s birthday lands on Saturday, May 13, when he’ll turn 28.
