The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with forward Patrick Brown.

The 25-year-old has a guarantee of earning $190,000, but will either make $650,000 while playing in the NHL or $160,000 in the AHL. The 2016-17 season was Brown’s third NHL campaign. He’s posted two points throughout his 28 career games with the Hurricanes, the team he originally signed with as a free agent in 2014 coming out of Boston College.

Brown spent three seasons with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL, where he posted 63 points through 196 career games. Brown was the captain of the Checkers this past season.
