Patrick Kane ties Sidney Crosby for longest streak by active player

Patrick Kane’s power play marker against the Jets extended his point streak to 25 games.

Patrick Kane‘s point streak has reached 25 games, tying a mark set by Sidney Crosby in 2010.

With just under 10 minutes remaining in the second period of Friday night’s game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Winnipeg Jets, Kane received a return pass from Teuvo Teravainen and went top shelf on Connor Hellebuyck.

Kane has already set the record for the longest point streak by an American, and a Blackhawk, and has now matched Crosby for the longest streak by an active player.

The 25-game streak is the longest the NHL has seen since the 1992-93 season when Mats Sundin managed to go 30 straight games with at least one point. Wayne Gretzky holds the all-time point streak record at 51 games.

The Chicago Blackhawks host the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.
