Penguins’ Maatta ‘week-to-week’ with lower-body injury

Scott Wedgewood had a 39-save shutout and Kyle Palmieri scored twice to get the Devils a 3-0 win over the Penguins.

The bad news never seems to stop for Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Olli Maatta.

Maatta is week-to-week with a lower-body injury, the Penguins announced Friday.

Maatta was injured in the Penguins’ 3-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils Thursday night.

The 21-year-old missed six games with an upper-body injury earlier this season. Maatta also sat out the final 56 games of the 2014-15 campaign and six playoff contests while recovering from an upper-body injury.

Maatta has six goals and 19 points and a plus-27 rating in 67 games this season.
