Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Matt Murray will miss an indefinite amount of time after the passing of his father, James.

Murray left the Penguins on Friday to attend to what was called “a personal matter” back at his home in Thunder Bay, Ont.

The 23-year-old is 15-12-1 this season, with a 2.93 goals-against average and .903 save rate.

Tristan Jarry will be expected to shoulder the starter’s load in Murray’s absence.
