The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed forwards Patric Hornqvist and Tom Kuhnhackl on injured reserve. In a corresponding move, the team has recalled forward Teddy Blueger from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Kuhnhackl, 26, also has a lower-body injury. It occurred in the first period of Tuesday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights and he didn’t finish the game. In 50 games this season Kuhnhackl has two goals and eight points.

Blueger, 23, could make his NHL debut with the Penguins in Friday’s game against the Dallas Stars. He has 12 goals and 26 points in 45 AHL games this season.
