Photos: Jets reveal Heritage Classic sweaters

Check this out, as Blake Wheeler and Cam Talbot model the 2016 NHL Heritage Classic jerseys.

The Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers revealed their 2016 NHL Heritage Classic sweaters during a press conference on Friday.

Both teams’ jerseys pay homage to their World Hockey Association (WHA) roots. The Oilers will sport their current alternate threads, inspired by their Alberta Oilers days.

The real focus of the big reveal was on the home team Jets, who are embracing the team’s history with some awesome throwback sweaters. Take a look:

The Jets’ uniform draws inspiration from the championship era of the late 1970s and features a crossover V-neck color and vintage-inspired mesh striping. The crest employs traditional chain stitching to lend a distinct authenticity to the throwback uniform. A pant logo highlights the historical Jets ID set, complete with an era-accurate name and number set.
