Predators fans return the favour, sing O Canada

Listen as fans in Nashville unite to sing the Canadian national anthem as way to make amends for a glitch at the Air Canada Centre in November during the Star-Spangled Banner.

The first time the Toronto Maple Leafs played the Nashville Predators this season, you could say it was a complete disaster for the home side. Toronto lost the game in embarrassing fashion, losing 9-2.

Toronto did go on to win 10 of its next 12 games, but in hindsight, that loss to the Predators was a sign of things to come.

If you’ll recall, at the beginning of that November game the national anthem singer’s microphone cut out in the middle of the Star Spangled Banner. Enter the Air Canada Centre crowd to bring it on home.

On Tuesday night, the Predators and Maple Leafs met in Nashville for their second head-to-head of the season. The anthem singer’s microphone didn’t cut out, but the team gave a nod to the fans at the ACC by asking the Bridgestone Arena crowd to sing O Canada. Check it out at the top of this post.

Stay classy, Nashville.
