Golden Saturdays are alive and well in Nashville.

As part of a new team promotion, the Nashville Predators debuted their yellow helmets against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

“The 2015-16 Nashville Predators hockey season is shaping up to be one of the best and most exciting in recent history, both on and off the ice,” Predators president and COO Sean Henry said in a statement. “‘Golden Saturdays’ and the new gold helmets are both things we’ve been working on for a while and will bring something unique and special to an already incredible experience – a Saturday night in Smashville.”

It’s hard to recall another NHL team rocking the yellow buckets in a couple of decades, but the Vancouver Canucks did so in the late 1980s.

However, the new helmets drew a mixed reaction on social media.
